Anti-RASA1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein RAS p21 protein activator 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1047 amino acid residues and a mass of 116.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the placenta, fallopian tube, and bronchus. RASA1 is a reported inhibitory regulator of the Ras-cyclic AMP pathway. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. The RASA1 gene has been associated with the disease, Capillary malformation-arteriovenous malformation. Synonyms for this target antigen include CMAVM, CMAVM1, GAP, PKWS, RASA, RASGAP, p120, and CM-AVM. RASA1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of RASA1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
