Anti-HYAL3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein hyaluronidase 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 417 amino acid residues and a mass of 46.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasmic vesicles, ER, cell membrane, and is secreted. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in sperm. A member of the Glycosyl hydrolase 56 protein family, HYAL3 is known to be involved with carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and cartilage development. Post-translational modifications have been described, including N-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include LUCA3, hyaluronoglucosaminidase 3, lung carcinoma protein 3, and LUCA-3. HYAL3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some HYAL3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
