Anti-PCDHA8 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein protocadherin alpha 8. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 950 amino acid residues and a mass of 103.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. PCDHA8 is known to be involved with cell adhesion and nervous system development. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include KIAA0345-like 6 and PCDH-alpha-8. PCDHA8 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, chimpanzee and chicken species. Immunofluorescence is the most common application for the PCDHA8 antibodies listed below. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
