This target is a reported synonym of the FABP9 gene, which encodes fatty acid binding protein 9. The human version of PERF15 has a canonical amino acid length of 132 residues and a protein mass of 15.1 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the hair. PERF15 is a member of the Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) protein family.
