Anti-ORC6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein origin recognition complex subunit 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 252 amino acid residues and a mass of 28.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow and colon. A member of the ORC6 protein family, ORC6 is a known component of the origin recognition complex (ORC) that binds origins of replication. The ORC6 gene has been associated with the disease, Meier-Gorlin syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include ORC6L. ORC6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of ORC6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
