Anti-Mrg2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Mrg2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CITED4 gene, which encodes Cbp/p300 interacting transactivator with Glu/Asp rich carboxy-terminal domain 4. This protein is known to act as transcriptional coactivator for TFAP2/AP-2. The human version of Mrg2 has a canonical amino acid length of 184 residues and a protein mass of 18.6 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the breast, thyroid gland, and adipose tissue.
