Anti-HMHB1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein histocompatibility minor HB-1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 41 amino acid residues and a mass of 5 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in acute lymphoblastic leukemia B-cells and Epstein-Barr virus-transformed B-cells. HMHB1 is known to be involved with adaptive immune responses and TNF-mediated cellular signaling pathways. Synonyms for this target antigen include minor histocompatibility protein HB-1 and minor histocompatibility antigen HB-1.
