Anti-HMFG antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The HMFG antigen is another term for the human protein milk fat globule EGF and factor V/VIII domain containing, encoded by the MFGE8 gene. The protein is known to play an important role in the maintenance of intestinal epithelial homeostasis and the promotion of mucosal healing. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 387 residues and a mass of 43.1 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasmic vesicles, membrane, and is secreted. It is widely expressed in many tissue types. Other alias names for HMFG include BA46, BA46, and EDIL1. Western Blot is the most common application for the HMFG antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
