Anti-BCDO2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BCDO2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the BCO2 gene, which encodes beta-carotene oxygenase 2. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of BCDO2 has a canonical amino acid length of 579 residues and a protein mass of 65.7 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. BCDO2 is a member of the Carotenoid oxygenase protein family. A number of BCDO2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
