Anti-SMIT antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SMIT is a known alias name of the protein solute carrier family 5 member 3, encoded by the SLC5A3 gene in humans. This 718-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for SMIT include BCW2 and SMIT1. Indicated applications for SMIT antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
