Anti-ADX antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ADX antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FDX1 gene, which encodes ferredoxin 1. This protein is known to function in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological roles. The human version of ADX has a canonical amino acid length of 184 residues and a protein mass of 19.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and notably expressed in the testis, placenta, kidney, and adrenal gland. This target antigen may also be known as FDX.
