Anti-TRIM46 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein tripartite motif containing 46. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 759 amino acid residues and a mass of 83.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell projections and cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 5 different isoforms for this protein. A member of a the TRIM/RBCC protein family, TRIM46 is reported to be a microtubule-associated protein that is involved in the formation of parallel microtubule bundles linked by cross-bridges in the proximal axon. Synonyms for this target antigen include gene Y protein, tripartite, fibronectin type-III and C-terminal SPRY motif protein, and tripartite motif-containing protein 46.
