Anti-AIDA antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein axin interactor, dorsalization associated. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 306 amino acid residues and a mass of 35 kDa. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is found to be widely expressed in adult tissues, with highest expression in the heart and skeletal muscle. A member of the AIDA protein family, AIDA is known to act as a ventralizing factor during embryogenesis. Synonyms for this target antigen include axin interaction partner and dorsalization antagonist, and axin interactor, dorsalization-associated protein. AIDA gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some AIDA antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
