Anti-UBC1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target UBC1 is a known alias name of the protein ubiquitin conjugating enzyme E2 K, encoded by the UBE2K gene in humans. This 200-amino acid residue protein is known to accept ubiquitin from the E1 complex and catalyzes its covalent attachment to other proteins. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features sumoylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for UBC1 include E2-25K, HIP2, and HYPG. Western Blot is a widely used application for the UBC1 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
