Anti-P5CS antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target P5CS is a known alias name of the protein aldehyde dehydrogenase 18 family member A1, encoded by the ALDH18A1 gene in humans. This 795-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a bifunctional enzyme that converts glutamate to glutamate 5-semialdehyde, an intermediate in the biosynthesis of proline, ornithine and arginine. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for P5CS include ADCL3, ARCL3A, and GSAS. Indicated applications for P5CS antibodies listed below include ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
