Anti-oncomodulin antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the OCM gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 109 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.2 kDa. A member of the Parvalbumin protein family, it is known to have some calmodulin-like activity with respect to enzyme activation and growth regulation. Other names for this target antigen include beta parvalbumin, hCG18255, parvalbumin beta, and oncomodulin-1.
