Anti-TMEM87A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane protein 87A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 555 amino acid residues and a mass of 63.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the LU7TM protein family, TMEM87A is suspected to be involved in retrograde transport from endosomes to the trans-Golgi network (TGN). Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include ELKIN1. TMEM87A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the TMEM87A antibodies listed below. In addition, Flow Cytometry is also a common application.
