Anti-EP58 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target EP58 is a known alias name of the protein protein O-glucosyltransferase 2, encoded by the POGLUT2 gene in humans. This 502-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a protein glucosyltransferase that catalyzes the transfer of glucose from UDP-glucose to a serine residue within the consensus sequence peptide C-X-N-T-X-G-S-F-X-C. It is localized to the ER of the cell and features N-glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
