Anti-Rex-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Rex-1 is a known alias name of the protein ZFP42 zinc finger protein, encoded by the ZFP42 gene in humans. This 310-amino acid residue protein is reported to be involved in reprogramming of X-chromosome inactivation during the acquisition of pluripotency. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell and features ubiquitinated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the kidney, epidermal keratinocytes, prostate epithelial cells, bronchial and small airway lung epithelial cells.
