Anti-EndoCAM antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target EndoCAM is a known alias name of the protein platelet and endothelial cell adhesion molecule 1, encoded by the PECAM1 gene in humans. This 738-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in receptor-mediated signaling pathways and cell adhesion, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated, palmitoylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is noted to be expressed on platelets and leukocytes and is primarily concentrated at the borders between endothelial cells. Other synonyms for EndoCAM include CD31, CD31, and CD31/EndoCAM. A number of EndoCAM antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
