Anti-alpha-actinin-2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target alpha-actinin-2 is a known alias name of the protein actinin alpha 2, encoded by the ACTN2 gene in humans. This 894-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cytoskeleton organization and cell adhesion, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in both skeletal and cardiac muscle. Other synonyms for alpha-actinin-2 include CMD1AA, CMH23, and CMYP8. Western Blot is the most common application for the alpha-actinin-2 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
