Anti-PRPF38B antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein pre-mRNA processing factor 38B. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 546 amino acid residues and a mass of 64.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow, tonsil, and appendix. A member of the PRP38 protein family, Prpf38b is believed to be required for pre-mRNA splicing. Synonyms for this target antigen include pre-mRNA-splicing factor 38B, PRP38 pre-mRNA processing factor 38 domain containing B, sarcoma antigen NY-SAR-27, and NET1. PRPF38B gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the Prpf38b antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
