PROC1, or Protein C, inactivator of coagulation factors Va and VIIIa, is a human gene encoded by PROC. It may also be known as: Vitamin K-dependent protein C; Autoprothrombin IIA; Blood coagulation factor XIV; Anticoagulant protein C; Vitamin K-dependent protein C ; prepro-protein C; THPH3; THPH4; protein C (inactivator of coagulation factors Va and VIIIa). The encoded protein is an enzyme with an amino acid length of 461 and a mass of 52.1 kDa. Other isoforms may exist. PROC1 is a member of the Peptidase S1 family. Homologs of this gene exist in other organisms, including: Fly, Mouse, Rat, Zebrafish, E. coli, Frog, Chicken.
