Anti-CNTN3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein contactin 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1028 amino acid residues and a mass of 112.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is notably expressed in the heart muscle, fallopian tube, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and bronchus. A member of the Contactin protein family, CNTN3 is known to be involved with cell adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include PANG, PCS, brain-derived immunoglobulin superfamily protein 1, contactin 3 (plasmacytoma associated), plasmacytoma-associated neuronal glycoprotein, and BIG-1. CNTN3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of CNTN3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
