Anti-PME-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PME-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PPME1 gene, which encodes protein phosphatase methylesterase 1. This protein is known to function in protein phosphorylation, among other biological roles. The human version of PME-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 386 residues and a protein mass of 42.3 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. PME-1 is a member of the AB hydrolase protein superfamily.
