Anti-TMEM46 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TMEM46 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SHISA2 gene, which encodes shisa family member 2. This protein is known to play an important role in the maturation of presomitic mesoderm cells by individual attenuation of both FGF and WNT signaling. The human version of TMEM46 has a canonical amino acid length of 295 residues and a protein mass of 31.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells. TMEM46 is a member of the Shisa protein family.
