Anti-MIA SH3 domain containing antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene MIA in humans. The gene may also be known as melanoma inhibitory activity, CD-RAP, and melanoma-derived growth regulatory protein. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 14.5 kilodaltons in mass. The MIA marker can be used to identify Airway Submucosal Gland Collecting Duct Epithelial Cells.* Based on gene name, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
