Anti-RCK antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target RCK is a known alias name of the protein DEAD-box helicase 6, encoded by the DDX6 gene in humans. This 483-amino acid residue protein is known to be important for the formation of P-bodies, cytosolic membrane-less ribonucleoprotein granules involved in RNA metabolism through the coordinated storage of mRNAs encoding regulatory functions. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features sumoylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is found to be highly expressed in most tissues.
