Anti-MCEF antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MCEF is a known alias name of the protein ALF transcription elongation factor 4, encoded by the AFF4 gene in humans. This 1163-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a key component of the super elongation complex (SEC), a complex required to increase the catalytic rate of RNA polymerase II transcription by suppressing transient pausing by the polymerase at multiple sites along the DNA. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for MCEF include AF5Q31 and CHOPS. Indicated applications for MCEF antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry.
