Anti-Mtap6 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Mtap6 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MAP6 gene, which encodes microtubule associated protein 6. This protein is known to function in cytoskeleton organization, among other biological roles. The human version of Mtap6 has a canonical amino acid length of 813 residues and a protein mass of 86.5 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles, Golgi, and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the caudate and cerebellum. Other names for this target antigen include MAP6-N and N-STOP.
