Anti-MER3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MER3 is a known alias name of the protein helicase for meiosis 1, encoded by the HFM1 gene in humans. This 1435-amino acid residue protein is known to be required for crossover formation and complete synapsis of homologous chromosomes during meiosis. In terms of tissue expression, it is found to be highly expressed in the testis and ovary.
