Anti-PIMT antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene PCMT1, or 'protein-L-isoaspartate (D-aspartate) O-methyltransferase' in humans. The 227-amino acid protein is a member of the Methyltransferase superfamily, L-isoaspartyl/D-aspartyl protein methyltransferase family. The cellular localization is predicted to be cytoplasmic.
