Anti-DCP1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The DCP1 antigen is another term for the human protein angiotensin I converting enzyme, encoded by the ACE gene. The protein is reported to be a dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase that removes dipeptides from the C-terminus of a variety of circulating hormones, such as angiotensin I, bradykinin or enkephalins, thereby playing a key role in the regulation of blood pressure, electrolyte homeostasis or synaptic plasticity. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 1306 residues and a mass of 149.7 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and cytoplasm and it is widely expressed across many tissue types. The DCP1 protein is a member of the Peptidase M2 protein family.
