Anti-PGD2 synthase antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PGD2 synthase antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PTGDS gene, which encodes prostaglandin D2 synthase. This protein is known to catalyze the conversion of PGH2 to PGD2, a prostaglandin involved in smooth muscle contraction/relaxation and a potent inhibitor of platelet aggregation. The human version of PGD2 synthase has a canonical amino acid length of 190 residues and a protein mass of 21 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, ER, Golgi, cytoplasm, and is secreted of cells. Other names for this target antigen include L-PGDS, L-PGDS, and LPGDS. Indicated applications for PGD2 synthase antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
