Anti-MCPIP antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The MCPIP antigen is another term for the human protein zinc finger CCCH-type containing 12A, encoded by the ZC3H12A gene. The protein is known to function in angiogenesis and the apoptotic pathway, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 599 residues and a mass of 65.7 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane, nucleus, ER, and cytoplasm and it is found to be expressed in the heart, placenta, spleen, kidney, liver and lung. The MCPIP protein is a member of the ZC3H12 protein family.
