Anti-CAL antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CAL is a known alias name of the protein filamin binding LIM protein 1, encoded by the FBLIM1 gene in humans. This 373-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell adhesion and the regulation of cell shape, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell junctions and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in the liver, kidney, gallbladder, duodenum, and colon.
