Anti-4.1B antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target 4.1B is a known alias name of the protein erythrocyte membrane protein band 4.1 like 3, encoded by the EPB41L3 gene in humans. This 1087-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a tumor suppressor that inhibits cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis. It is localized to the cell membrane and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed at high levels in the brain, with lower levels in the kidney, intestine, and testis. Other synonyms for 4.1B include DAL-1 and DAL1.
