Anti-ALDP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target ALDP is a known alias name of the protein ATP binding cassette subfamily D member 1, encoded by the ABCD1 gene in humans. This 745-amino acid residue protein is reported to be an aTP-dependent transporter of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) family involved in the transport of very long chain fatty acid (VLCFA)-CoA from the cytosol to the peroxisome lumen. It is localized to the mitochondria, ER, lysosomes, and peroxisomes of the cell and features phosphorylated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the duodenum, testis, and adrenal gland. Other synonyms for ALDP include ABC42 and ALD. Western Blot is the most common application for the ALDP antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
