Anti-Aph1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Aph1 is a known alias name of the protein aph-1 homolog A, gamma-secretase subunit, encoded by the APH1A gene in humans. This 265-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a non-catalytic subunit of the gamma-secretase complex, an endoprotease complex that catalyzes the intramembrane cleavage of integral membrane proteins such as Notch receptors and APP (amyloid-beta precursor protein). It is localized to the ER and Golgi of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types.
