Anti-DDD antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target DDD is a known alias name of the protein keratin 5, encoded by the KRT5 gene in humans. This 590-amino acid residue protein is known to be required for the formation of keratin intermediate filaments in the basal epidermis and maintenance of the skin barrier in response to mechanical stress (By similarity). It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features O-glycosylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in corneal epithelium. Other synonyms for DDD include CK5 and DDD1. A number of DDD antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
