Anti-CELF5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein CUGBP Elav-like family member 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 485 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the brain. A member of the CELF/BRUNOL protein family, CELF5 is known to be an RNA-binding protein implicated in the regulation of pre-mRNA alternative splicing. Synonyms for this target antigen include RNA-binding protein BRUNOL-5, bruno-like 5 RNA binding protein, and CUG-BP and ETR-3 like factor 5. CELF5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
