Anti-LAP1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LAP1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TOR1AIP1 gene, which encodes torsin 1A interacting protein 1. This protein is known to be required for nuclear membrane integrity. The human version of LAP1 has a canonical amino acid length of 583 residues and a protein mass of 66.2 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. LAP1 is a member of the TOR1AIP protein family.
