Anti-pssA antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target pssA is a known alias name of the protein phosphatidylserine synthase 1, encoded by the PTDSS1 gene in humans. This 473-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze a base-exchange reaction in which the polar head group of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) or phosphatidylcholine (PC) is replaced by L-serine. It is localized to the ER of the cell. Other synonyms for pssA include LMHD and PSS1. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for pssA antibodies.
