Anti-YTS antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The YTS antigen is another term for the human protein tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase 1, encoded by the YARS1 gene. The protein is reported to be a Tyrosine--tRNA ligase that catalyzes the attachment of tyrosine to tRNA(Tyr) in a two-step reaction: tyrosine is first activated by ATP to form Tyr-AMP and then transferred to the acceptor end of tRNA(Tyr) (Probable). Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 528 residues and a mass of 59.1 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The YTS protein is a member of the Class-I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase protein family.
