Anti-MUC20 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mucin 20, cell surface associated. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 709 amino acid residues and a mass of 72 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and is secreted. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the kidney, moderately in the placenta, lung, prostate, liver, and digestive system. MUC20 is believed to regulate MET signaling cascade. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include mucin-20 and transmembrane mucin MUC20S. MUC20 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some MUC20 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
