Anti-Nuclear mitotic apparatus protein 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene NUMA1 in humans. The gene may also be known as NMP22, NuMA, NMP-22, SP-H antigen, and centrophilin stabilizes mitotic spindle in mitotic cells. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 238.3 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
