Anti-UT1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target UT1 is a known alias name of the protein solute carrier family 14 member 1 (Kidd blood group), encoded by the SLC14A1 gene in humans. This 389-amino acid residue protein is known to mediate the transport of urea driven by a concentration gradient across the cell membrane of erythrocytes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in erythrocytes. Other synonyms for UT1 include HUT11, HUT11A, and HsT1341.
