Anti-MICAL antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MICAL antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MICAL1 gene, which encodes microtubule associated monooxygenase, calponin and LIM domain containing 1. This protein is known to function in cytoskeleton organization and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. The human version of MICAL has a canonical amino acid length of 1067 residues and a protein mass of 117.9 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. MICAL is a member of the Mical protein family. Western Blot is the most common application for the MICAL antibodies listed below. ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
