Anti-carbonic anhydrase 8 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CA8 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 290 amino acid residues and a mass of 33 kDa. The carbonic anhydrase 8 protein is a member of the Alpha-carbonic anhydrase protein family. Other names for this target antigen include CA-VIII, CALS, CAMRQ3, CARP, carbonic anhydrase-related protein, CA-related protein, carbonate dehydratase, and CA-RP.
