Anti-Kir2.1 antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene KCNJ2, or 'potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily J member 2' in humans. The 427-amino acid protein is a member of the Inward rectifier-type potassium channel (TC 1.A.2.1) family, KCNJ2 subfamily. The cellular localization is predicted to be membrane-associated.
